Hi neighbor,
We’re expecting a significant winter storm this weekend. Please take a few minutes to prep your unit now—small steps can prevent big (and expensive) problems.
Protect your pipes
- If temperatures drop hard or if you lose power/heat, let faucets drip (especially those on exterior walls).
- Open cabinet doors under sinks on exterior walls to let warmer air circulate.
- If you’ll be away, consider setting your thermostat a bit higher than usual and make sure you have a plan for power loss.
If you see a leak
- Report water leaks immediately to Capstone at (336) 494-6080 and Bobby at (336) 339-2106 (he can shut off water if needed).
- Please don’t wait—water spreads fast and can affect multiple units.
Safety
- Do not use combustion heaters indoors (propane/kerosene/gas heaters, grills, etc.). Carbon monoxide is no joke.
- Use safe, indoor-rated electric options only, and keep anything heating-related away from fabrics.
Snow removal
- We’ve already arranged for snow removal. Crews will respond as conditions allow and will prioritize primary walkways/entries first.
A little prep now will save everyone headaches later. Thanks for helping keep the community safe and dry.
